Can serial or mail merge functions for label printing be carried out with LabelWork?
Yes. LabelWork supports the functionality for serial label printing. Variable data from data bases and/or tables are read during printing and are dynamically added to the label.
Can LabelWork define barcodes on labels whose encoding changes during serial label printing?
Yes, that is possible. During the design phase of the label, the barcode is allocated with a parameter name, which is linked to a field value from a data base or table.
Which barcode symbologies can be printed on labels with LabelWork?
LabelWork supports over 100 barcode symbologies. Among others, these are 1D as well as 2D and postal barcodes. Click here for a detailed list.
What does multiple label printing mean?
Multiple label printing means that several labels of the same size are printed on one sheet of paper next to each other and one below the other, always with the same spacing. For this type of label printing, pre-fabricated labels of various manufacturers are often used, such as for example by Avery Zweckform.
Can multiple label printing be combined with serial label printing?
Yes, it is possible to combine multiple label printing with serial label printing.
Can text objects be rotated on labels?
Yes, with LabelWork, text objects as well as all other objects (lines, squares, ellipses, graphics, barcodes and pictograms) can be rotated on labels in 90°-steps.
Can LabelWork be used to print variable graphics on serial labels?
Yes. With LabelWork it is possible to dynamically add graphics to a label during serial label printing (e.g. logos or product images). This can, for example, be achieved by saving the file name of the graphics to be added in the data base and by a relevant parameterization of the graphics during label design. You can gather more information about this in the manual.
From which data formats can LabelWork obtain data during serial label printing?
LabelWork supports the following serial printing data formats::
Any ODBC data sources
MS Excel
CSV File
Structured text files with definable separator characters
Manual data entered during printing (stops at every label)
Moreover, on a label defined parameters (variables) can be replaced by a running number (with start, stop and step definable) as well as by date/time in many different formats and combinations.
I have set a label size of 4 cm x 2 cm. In the print preview (file/print preview), however, a totally different label is shown.
In the print preview, LabelWork simulates the printout. Therefore, it checks in the selected printer driver which paper size is momentarily set. You have to make sure that
the correct printer was set in LabelWork (file/printer settings), and that
the correct paper size was set in the printer.
My label is incorrectly positioned on the printout.
Make the correct printer settings in LabelWork via file/printer settings.
Make the correct paper size settings in the printer settings.
